Past & Present

I think the coin parking meters were installed in Park Slope in 2007 or 2008.  Now they're being replaced in 2011 by these machines.  Being a cyclist, I'm sad to see the old ones go 'cause they're the best place to lock a bike. The PS Civic Council says they're adding bike racks to make up for the loss, but I dont think they're installing enough.

Aw, you're right, it is sad. And I never even used them to lock a bike to. But the old meters are just so much a part of the classic New York look, you know?

Next thing you know, the hookers and crack-dealers are gonna be replaced with yuppies and strollers . . . oh wait!!! ;-D
